Spicebar Papua nutmegs are grown in Indian territory, near the Periyar River. These nuts are very aromatic, and only the biggest and most beautiful nuts are packed - they are picked by hand and dried, so that later they end up in the hands of customers. So that nothing goes to waste, the smallest nuts are ground for spice mixes.

The full flavor of nutmeg can best be felt after grinding it - it has a warm, slightly spicy and clove-like aroma. On the palate, it has a slightly peppery, mild citrus note, creating an interesting and complex flavor bouquet.

What can you add nutmeg to? A pinch of ground nuts on potato dishes such as mashed potatoes, baked potatoes and potato pancakes. The delicately spicy taste is also a pleasant addition to vegetable dishes, such as soups and stews.

Nutmegs are also interesting for Christmas and other sweet dishes, such as cookies and gingerbread - a pinch of this nut offers a pleasant bitterness to sweet dishes.
